Butt Plate Screws

Does anyone know where to buy size 10 oval-head screws suitable for mounting butt plates? By suitable I mean nicely finished and unplated. All I can find in the Brownells catalog is size 12 screws, which are a bit coarse for my job. Kim

Brownells has these #10 screws REPLACEMENT BUTT PLATE SCREWS | Brownells
I have found that their generic screws are a little rough and the slots mostly off center. There is a reason theirs are 6 bucks a dozen, and the other guys are 4 bucks a piece!

If you are stuck with the hardware store plated screws, a 2 minute dunk in pool acid or muratic acid concrete cleaner will strip the plating away. Another minute or two in the lathe and you can clean them up and or profile them to your requirements.

Thanks very much. I was working from a Brownells catalog and obviously should have looked online. Glad to learn about the other outfit.
