A friend gave me a model 70, lightweight Winchester. Believe it or not he lost the bolt. Because of our silly laws here in Canada, A weapon must be stored with the bolt removed if posible) and stored seperately. Well after a few years went by he couldn,t remember where he put it. Now I could buy a new one, probably cost as much as a new rifle, or I can try to make a replacement. how hard would this be? am I taking on an unrealistic project? If anyone has a bolt for the above rifle in .308 cal. for sale, please save me from all that work.

Brownells or Gun Parts should be able to help you. Hope this is of some assistance to you.

the bolt is a winchester return ONLY part...can not be purchased

call winchester browning, tell them that "due to canada's stupid laws, the bolt has been lost"

ask them how much and how long.. they will NOT give you a strait answer...

multiply the time by 4....

send them the gun..

wait till it comes back...

KEEP THE DAMN SERVICE CLAIM TAG, serial number, and shipping tracking... winnie will send you a "service claim tag" that you can check status on.... do so at least once per 2 weeks
