Spindle TPI?

I noticed on my new Lathe (12x36" Import) that it has threads inside the spindle. Was hoping to build a spider that can thread inside the spindle, is this possible? If so, what are the threads inside Metric or standard? Spindle is 1 1/5" so I dont think I would run into a problem with bore size, any help would be great.

I would guess its metric, being its an inport, beg or get a screw pitch gage, and check them. If you can put your spider on the outside, that little extra room is handy.

What make lathe is it? give the company a call, they should have all the specs. Something you should have anyway, a parts list as well eh..
