So I am new to this forum, and I am going to be milling a Glock Slide. I am using a Tormach 1100 Series 3 mill. What should my speeds and feeds for hardened tool steel be if I am center drilling and drilling? How deep should my pecks be? I am using a carbide 1/8 drill/center drill

No center drill for a carbide drill be careful the right hole passes thru the Chanel for the extractor and not on center of it either so I drill pretty slow about 3 ipm and 5500 rpms no pecking

Thank you! How do you keep your drill from walking if you don't use a center drill? What about speeds and feeds for the cutters you use? I am using a 1/16 carbide and a 1/4 carbide? I was told .01 depths of cuts, and any other types of cuts to go full depth and do an adaptive clearing tool path. Any thoughts? I use Fusion 360 as my CAD/CAM.

Here are some pics of a prototype I am working on. I milled it out of Acetal, just am wanting to fine tune my speeds and feeds so this goes smoothly for me. This is the first slide that I will be doing and am looking for all the help I can get.

Carbide drill is short and stiff you don’t want to center drill ahead of it I use 1/8 endmill 5500 rpm 25ipm 7 percent stepover .02 deep. .1875 ball endmill same feeds and speeds 1/4 endmill probably the same as the others

Is there anyway you have the dimensions or blueprint of this cut? Looking to cut my Glock 19 slide just like this. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

That was on a blank slide using mastercam and a fadal post what are you using

The rear serrations are different and the Glock logo on the front is still slightly visible with a stock slide
