My friend and I are working on a model 30 that needs to have the magazine tube and barrel reblued. The tube is held in position by dovetail mounts under the barrel. I want to remove the tube to sand it without clearance issues when its mounted under the barrel. The tube enters the front of the receiver, and I am hesitant to push the dovetail mount for fear I will bend the tube where it enters the receiver. I am also hesitant to try to drive the tube out of the receiver from the breach end. Do any of you know how to remove the tube on these?
