Modelo 1935 Chilean Mauser 7 X 57

This is marked Mauser Werke Oberndorf. Always thought it was a M98. Has factory bent bolt handle and cocks on lifting bolt handle. Is it M95 or M98?

It's a 98, but some of them were the small ring version. A lot of south American 7X57's were small ring. I don't remember what the Chileans were. Measure the OD of the receiver ring. If it is 1.4" it's a large ring. If about 1.1" it the small ring. In either case they are good strong actions.

Look on the bolt for the third "safety" lug just in front of the bolt handle. No lug = M95, lug = M98.
