OK, I made a mistake on a DPMS UPPER

I bought on price, and am now not satisfied with the pivot pin fit . TOO SLOPPY!

Sure, I could stuff a rubber bumper under the take down pin. Or I could "horse shoe" the contact at the take down pin area. But it really gets my goat that the issue is the pivot pin slop. And it's not in the lower, those holes are tight.

Or, for $100 I could buy a better upper.

But hey, this is a machinist's forum!

JP offers .001 over sized pins, though I'm not sure .001 would do it. (better for sure) But $30 for pins and then the OS reamer.... Might as well buy a different upper.

I was thinking "paint it up", using CeroKote or some high metal content epoxy (think Devcon etc)

There is not a lot of room for a rebush at the front pivot of a LR-308, but I'm considering it.

Any comments before I make to much of a small thing?
