Many aftermarket, bolt-on options available, check out Brownells. Be aware, if you're in Kalifornia, you might be constructing an assault weapon.

If you plan to not use a shoulder stock, what I dont like about the typical (near vertical) pistol grip is A LOT of recoil goes right into into your wrist - OUCH! Much better is to just cut off a factory stock just behind the grip, then use some woodworking skills to pretty it up. Your wrist is at a natural angle, and recoil dissipates into your arm rather than stopping at your wrist.

Last time I checked, Malta was in the middle of the Mediterranean. Not under the jurisdiction of the California State Government, or even the ATF.
Also, unfortunately, quite a ways from Brownells. Its a long boat ride from Sicily, much less Montezuma Iowa. UPS would be kinda pricey.
I think he is looking for do-it-yourself info.

Regarding Malta, I considered that, but decided to leave the response as is (you never know). I offered one DIY solution, plus Brownells or any on-line catalog can be browsed for ideas.

Here's a good pic of the short grip I mentioned. It's just a shortened factory stock. Definitely DIY material:

And here's a commercially available version (scroll down near the bottom):
