    The barrel shank of a Rem is 1-1/16" x 16TPI. This is a popular shank, although a lot of custom actions have 18TPI.

    How long is it? how much clearence do you leave for the recoil lug?

    You should measure the actual recoil lug to be used rather than use a generic dimension.
