My GS recently asked me where he could find a tap so he can fit a muzzle brake on a DW revolver, the revolver which was sold with interchangeable barrels.
Typically, as I understand it, you take the nut off the barrel, unscrew the barrel and fit another using the rear screw-threaded end to adjust the cylinder/barrel gap.
As far as the wisdom of a muzzle brake on one I only know he was asked to provide one, and I am very ignorant about revolvers being an Auto guy.
I made the brakes in one of the CNC 3 axis lathes, with 1/2-20 threads IIRC, maybe 9/16-20.
He says the thread appears to be .660-38, if so that's a proprietary thread perhaps. I suggested single point threading with a small BB but he seemed intimidated by the thought.
I told him I could make a tap but I would rather he save money by buying one if they can be found, which I've been unable to do.
Anyone know where?
Thanks,
parts
