    That says color code, not material code. The action is not made of Red.

    didn't work well in WW2 for the Brits on the lee enfield no4
    they had barrel creapon the mklll barrel

    Also, there were Carcano's imported into Canada. Basically, threaded sleeve and pressed and pinned barrel. They loosened up quick.

    Worked exceptionally well on the Steyr SSG-69 sniper rifle. Rebarreling is difficult and problematic though.
