Brand New Haas ST30SSY Questions.

Hey everyone,

We just got a Haas ST30SSY, actually they're setting it up right now. I was watching the Haas soft jaws video and I had a few questions.

1) How do I know what kind of pressure to put on a part? Is there a chart for solids, tubes, etc? Or is it one of those goes by feel things?

2) Do any of you use those boring rings or do you have your own special tools?

Any help is appreciated and I'm sure I'll have more questions in the future.

Hello Jeremy, do you still have your Haas ST30SSY?

I have the 24 station turret configuration on my machines. It rocks and I am so sad that they discontinued it.

When your part bends, or slips in the chuck, you either have too much or too little pressure.

Boring rings are sweet. Make sure to turn the chuck pressure down quite a way so you don't bend them.

Have fun with your big machine! Did you get one with the NGC control?
