We just bought a broaching tool for the lathe. When we set the values in VPS the cycle starts cutting way inside the starting diameter and never goes deep enough.
I know it has to accommodate where the edge of the cutter contacts the arc of the bore but it starts more then .25” away and with passes of only .0015” it takes forever.
The broach is only .25” wide and the hole is 1” diameter.
Any suggestions as to why?
