I have a TM1 in storage and bought a plug in battery replacement. Do I have to cut the solder on the old battery to open that circuit and allow the plug in battery to take over?
I really want to just plug in the new battery and call it good.
It will be in storage for about 6 months so I'm trying to avoid losing everything.

Not from what I was shown. Depending on your year, the battery comp plugs into am existing port next to old battery. Just pop in, plug batteries in, and unplug/cut old ones out...

Yes, you need to cut the old one out after you plug in the new battery pack. Just use some diagonal wire cutters to clip the leads on each side of the old battery, piece of cake.

Yes, just had a tech do my 2004 tm1 while he was here for other work. Must remove old battery
