I want to use the bar feeder as a part stop. The manual has a program example to do this.

M00 (LOAD PART)
G00 V-19.0 (BACK OFF THE PUSH ROD)
G161 (DISABLE THE V AXIS)
(RUN PROGRAM HERE)

The question is were did the negative numbers come from? Was the zero point set during the initial set up by bring the push rod out flush to the chuck jaws?
