    Yes, It would be a good idea for you to state your case more clearly. One of you may learn something that is 'mission critical'.

    First tell him you did your homework, then show him what a cynical 60 year old bastard with 44 years of machine shop work, management and ownership wrote.

    I will give him (the owner) benefit of doubt, he may be naive in the complexities and nuance of precision machine tool vs farming machinery. But that is no excuse to ignore expert assistance and advice. Shut up and listen - learn! Salesmen want you to buy something, sometimes it is what you need, often it is not. There is a reason machine tools come standard with enclosures, pumps and nozzles.

    If he is not convinced then he is unworthy of owning such a machine and you should seek employment someplace else immediately where your quest for knowledge would be appreciated.

    One detail he may have missed from watching the air only demo, likely steel being machined. The thermal properties of steel are much different than aluminum. Yes it would 'work' on aluminum, better than nothing but nowhere near the benefits compared to flood coolant.
