Hey guys.

The previous employee messed with the parameters somehow and I've never been able to get my Haas SL30 Lathe to spin more than 950ish RPM. Even when I input s2000 M03 in the MDI.

We have gone through all of the parameters that I suspect might be the problem but everything looks normal? Also the machine only ever runs in low gear, we can switch it too high gear with the M42 command but even if we do the machine wont go higher than 950 RPM.

Any thought?

I'm still kind of new at this so I apologize if I need to give more info.

Check your last program g50 command.
If it’s G50 S950,then that’s the issue.
Run another program with a higher G50 command and try that

Even when I write

G50 S2000
S1500 M03

in MDI then my spindle still only turns at 940-950.

The guy who ran this machine before me always said "we dont need to go faster on this lathe"...obviously he changed some parameter and I cannot figure out which one he changed.

I have Haas mills not lathes, but, you can unlock the parameters by changing Setting 7
and typing "debug" on the alarm page. Then page around on the Parameter page to see if you can find some setting that limits the rpms.

Hit the param/dgnos button.
Type in 131 and hit arrow down button.
It will tell you your max spindle rpm.
Mine is 2400 rpm
150 is max in low gear. Mine is 744 rpm
