The servo is holding it, so, yes.

Was having other issues and just wanted to make sure I wasn't crazy. Only have one lathe so nothing to compare to. Amp went bad and I just confirmed that was the only issue

X is fighting gravity.

PID... that is how servos work.
Here the I is in control.
Think it as a bias or offset to no force. Kind of like a counterweight on a mill z axis.
Does seem a bit high so lube should be checked.
