I am making a subplate for a VF2 and am wanting to cut a T-Slot into it for the tailstock. Struggling to find the right cutter, wondering if anyone else has done this and has a recommendation for the tool? Not sure if Im looking for a tool that will do it in one shot or not. I'm sure I could find one that could do it in a few passes, but seems like there would be one that would be one shot once you endmill the slot.

Thanks

Just got a Dorian off Amazon for the same purpose 1.0dia 7/32 wide, so it'll take multipasses

I'm not sure about your application, but if
I could cut the tee slot on a manual machine,I would.

It is very instinctive to realize when it isn't working...and you
Can stop and check...
T slots are typically clearance for nuts and bolts stuff... So if you needed the slots
To be more of a reference, it could be machined later on the cnc once installed.

Good luck

Won't let me edit....

What I mean is that t slots get packed with chips no matter how much coolant you're pumping in there.
And it's difficult to judge when you can't see and feel the cut. When you hear it go south, it's too late inside the t.😢
