Used Haas Checklist When Machine Sitting Idle

I'm looking at a Haas that has been relatively idle for the past 3-5 years. Personally, I would think a machine that has been used every day the past 3-5 years could likely have less issues than a machine that has sat mostly idle for 3-5 years, but I could be wrong.

Are there items you would just assume need to be replaced and negotiate into the price of the machine if it sat that long and wasn't getting lubricated? (Ballscrews, Bearings, etc.)

Any other tips/thoughts?

What is year is the machine? The older (CHC) machines have their parameters saved on volatile memory. When the machine is off, the memory is kept alive by a battery. 3~5 years might be long enough to discharge even the dual battery mods.

Make sure you get a copy of the machine backup and any unlocks that come with the machine. Having to go through the HFO can be a hassle.
