I have a Haas VF3-ss 2004 model. The spindle motor has failed. Reading to ground so it likely needs rewound. I got a quote from local HFO and they quote $10,000.00 after core exchange!! They said it was obsolete and we have to get a different model now with retro-fit circuitry. It looks like they are putting in a Yaskawa to replace it.
I am going to send it to Paragon Atlantic for a quote first, but wanted to get feedback from this forum. I have shared photos of the Motor Plate and the Machine plate for reference. Also, a Google search of the motor information leads me to believe it is an ABB/Baldor servo motor but I can't find any source or aftermarket motors. The ABB site doesn't even have a photo or say "servo" so I can't be sure.
Anyone here have any experience with this or recommendations?
