Trying to get a 1941 36" spiral drive bullard up and running.
Can anyone tell me the proper RPM for the main driving pulley?
The pulley is 21" in diameter.
Trying to size the motor pulley on a 20 hp 1750 rpm motor.

Put it in top gear, engage clutch and turn pulley enough times to turn table one full turn and do the math for what ever top speed is placarded

Say it went six turns on pulley for one full turn of table

Say you found the top to be placarded 150 RPM

6 times 150 is the pulley speed

OR.....

Same deal for lower speed if pulley too hard to turn in top gear

Just count the turns and do the math for THAT gear's placarded speed

On Edit... say you went all the way down to 15 RPM placarded - you would find you needed SIXTY turns.

Pulley speed same at 15 X 60
