Have a Toolmex/Andrychow lathe with hardened ways.
Considering having it reground.

Any west coast firms that do bed regrinding.

Schaffer Grinding in LA is a long ways away.

There is one in Seattle WA - Lindmark - LINDMARK MACHINE WORKS - Machining, Planing, Presswork, Surface Grinding - Specializing In Press Brake Dies Shear Blade Grinding

They will do a complete rebuild if you need it.

Lindmark is the only one I have ever found. A friend of mine just got a an approximately $1000 - $1500 quote from them to do a regrind on a Graziano SAG12. I think that was if the lathe was delivered stripped to the bed. His only comment to me was that he had to be very persistent in contacting them in order to get a response.

Hmmm... I think that is a very reasonable price.
I would expect them to want stripped for the least cost and hassle.

Apparently they install a grinding head on a planer to do bed grinding.

Doug,

You might contact Calef Machine Tool Rebuilders (I believe in Troutdale Oregon) . . . they have done scraping for us and do quality work. If they don’t have a grinder setup large enough for your lathe, they can certainly point you to someone on the west coast who does.

We should have that capability in about 6 months as we get our Butler planer mill set up as time and finances allow.
