I need a little advice/help during reassembly of the Shaft that drives the Carriage/x-axis I guess, back and forth. There is a Plunger on the side that contacts the shaft, there is a Spring inside there thats in the way of installing it. There must be a trick to it? Does the little ball go into the hole in the shaft? What is the Plunger suppose to do?

Might be some sort of lock. How about screwing it in and then pull it back and turn the knurled knob 90 degrees to hold the plunger out. Then slide in the feed shaft. The plunger may fit into a hole so when you dress the wheel the table doesn't move. Locks it into place?.

Thanks for the Info but mine is different from that one, of coarse. One of the roller bearings is right next to the gear, the shaft has a D shape to it with a hole for the little ball. I suspect the washer in front of the spring is D shaped also and the ball holds the spring in the correct location. Then install the Plunger. I'll check it out more closely after sleeping/thinking on it last night.

The drawing in the manual posted shows it screwed into the top center of the saddle, how is yours different? Can you post a photo of the top of your saddle?
