Knee Screw Housing Cracked?

I just purchased a Cnc knee mill and noticed the paint is cracked almost all the way around the knee screw housing about 3/4 of an inch from the bottom. There are no bolts showing from the top, could this be part of the base casting or could it be bolted from the bottom. I'm worried that it's one piece and cracked. The mill is a Delta 3600. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Take your cell phone and take some photo's. Knew screw housing could mean the bracket the nut sets in or where the crank for Z screw crank is or ??? A picture is worth a 1000 words.
