Sorry for the confusion on 2 other posts Charles closed. There was a mix up on the info, so the host asked Charles to close them. The location of the class will be in Oswego NY which is on the shores of Lake Ontario about 45 minutes north of the Syracuse NY airport. It will be the same type we have been teaching for 30 + years and talking about on Practical Machinist. It is called a Basic / Advanced Class. First time new students are invited who have wanted to scrape and rebuild their worn and old machines. We are also accepting former students who would like to do an advanced class where you jump right into a project. Private message me your email address so I can send you the information, or email me at [email protected]

Plans are also in the works for classes in 2020: Bay area CA June class, Springfield VT September class, Detroit suburb October class, November High Point NC class, December Portland OR class. The January FL, February TX, and April CA classes are full. Also if you would like to Host a class PM me. Thanks and Happy New Year

Photo's are from several other class in the USA and Europe

Sold 2 places today and I started to advertise this class on Ebay. We have had several people in Canada email about this class. Iexpect it to fill up soon now that we have it listed. You register, pay a small deposit to hold the spot and the balance will be due around April 1 st. Thanks...and Happy New Year.

You provide free catered lunch with your classes, Richard? We did in the classes I taught. Pizza, sub sandwiches, Chinese food, even had a crawfish boil in Savannah.

We ate it right there at the venue where we could get to know one another, brag, lie, exchange notes. It built cohesion and paid off in all being present for the afternoon session. We could start on schedule. No waiting for stragglers

The benefits far outweighed the cost even with 20 students, who, after all, paid for full sessions.

Adam Booth did a Shrimp Ball ( Boil) down at Keith Ruckers, Keith BBQ's hamburgers and steaks, his wife make Chile, we have brought in Subway, Pizza, gone to cafes, done it all. I do like to limit to 30 to 45 minutes but I tell the students it's their nickle and time is money. Sometimes some students don't take lunches. In Austria we went to a local company who had a large cafeteria that let the class in because one of the brothers had been an engineer their. It was a 5 minute walk. Biax paid for the lunch. They paid me too...the students paid Biax and our host shop. In Rockford at Bourn and Koch they had a in plant cafeteria with machines and refrig's. Down at ASAP Mfg in Louisiana we had craw dads.... in 2 weeks Adam will be doing 2 lunches, one a boil and something else he said that will be less spicy...at the Florida Class in Santa Rosa. I will share them with several class pictures.

I used to do 20 to 30 students a week when I only taught a basic class that was only scraping. I now teach basic and advanced classes combined in 45 to 50 hours. I used to say 6 to 8 students, now have enough graduated students I have help teach the classes with me. That Florida class will have 15, 5 will be former students wanting to learn more.

Many of the hosts prepare lunch daily for the group...I have seen every which way in my hundreds of classes.

Pics: Abom79 Scrimp Ball (Boil), Swedish Breakfast in SW Sweden, Augusta GA class and the class invited me to have Grits for breakfast at a Waffle House, lol... and dinner at Resort in my recent October classes in Austria...

Is the High Point class a weekend or week long?

Richard,

Just browsing through, and, there I was first photo of past classes!

I doubt we'll have a chance to do anything this year, but who knows what next year could bring!

Stay safe! All the best, Matthew
