    It is a link to one of JHollands posts here on PM, there is the link to a nice photo slideshow of large factory work around 1900. The straight edge is in the "turbine workshop" picture.

    I have a similar straightedge. 5 1/2 wide by 48 long, originally hook scraped. I never considered it could be for scraping turbine cases for sealing rather than machine tool alignment.
