    Default Bridgeport J Head 9 x 48 w/ ballscrews on the X and Y

Purchased this mill from a small shop out in Long Island two years ago with the intention of converting it to a CNC mill and it's been sitting in the corner of my space ever since.

    It's a 1966 Bridgeport J Head with step pulleys and a 1HP pancake motor, Serial # 887XX.

The ways seem to be in good shape (see photos) and aside from a a gouge and hole from the pervious owner, the table isn't too dinged up. The table was removed to pass through a single door and the saddle was pulled at the same time for cleaning - all the parts are with the machine.

This mill has (I believe ground) zero backlash ball screws on the X and Y axis - which is why I was interested in converting it to CNC.

This is a project I'm unlikely to get around in the next year, so I'd like to reclaim the space in my shop.

I paid $1,800 for the machine, but I'm open to any reasonable offer.

The machine is located in Brooklyn, NY in a warehouse with high and low docks, so loading onto a trailer or truck is a pretty straightforward operation.

Give me a shout at [email protected] if you're interested.
