Is the lathe shaped object not an "atlas...pot metal version" ?

It may be an unmentionable machine on this forum, but quite popular and desirable for the hobbyist market, only real downside to that unit is no QC gearbox. And the gears are zamac, not pot metal, as long as operator is not an idiot they will last quite a long time. When I mentioned selling mine, 3 people instantly said they were interested.

As for real machines in central Tx, they are out there, but sellers have yet to figure out that if its been advertised for 3 years and has not sold, maybe something is wrong with the price.

He said he "broke his back", must have been carrying this lathe. So he's right, it's a break lathe.

But good luck to him at that price. I suspect brake lathes are a bit of a relic now, due to China rotor prices I think most people just replace, not cut disks nowadays. And how many drums are still out there?

Not sure if its because we are so close to Mexico or what, but BL's are not dirt cheap here yet. At the right price friend could use one.

Maybe the seller is someone who associates brands name to tools. How many people call an open end adjustable wrench a Crescent wrench?
