    Text from add:

Monarch 10EE, 12x20 Engine Metal Lathe - $2750 (North DFW)

Up for sale is a Monarch 10EE, 12x20 engine lathe.
D1-3 spindle mount, #2 morse taper in the tailstock, 1.47" thru the spindle.
Has a Jacobs Spindle Nose Lathe chuck, Ridgid ball bearing Drill chuck
Indexable square Toolpost, Live Center, cutting bits
    5 HP 3 Ph motor properly matched to a 10HP VFD. Converts 240v 1 Phase to 240v 3 Phase.
The original Motor/Generator drive comes with it, and doesn't show much use.
Ways show minimal wear, and the motor and
Headstock are quiet in operation, and the handles and levers
are pretty tight for a machine of this age.

All the feed/thread ranges are operational, as are the feed and thread functions on the
carriage. Has a feed reverse lever on the carriage, which is very handy.

This machine sat unused for a long time, and I have cleaned it up
enough to check condition and operation. A test cut on 4" centers shows only .0001" difference.
With a little cleaning and tuning, this would be a very nice lathe.
The 10EE is one of the finest lathes Monarch ever built, and Monarch's are the best.
USA made in August of 1942, so it's massively built.
I can load on a utility trailer.
    Thanks for looking,
    Scott

I wish I had the space for it. That looks like it will make someone a nice machine.

Bumping this thread serves no purpose, and I apologize for that; but since this is my first post (long time lurker) this is probably a good place to say this one 'stayed in the family' at PM.

I saw the ad about the same time as the OP and called - but was at a disadvantage because of geography - compounded by the fact I was on a ski trip with the family. I was willing to buy it unseen following our phone conversation but of course - getting $ there wasn't going to happen instantly. Luckily for me the seller mentioned it was also on ebay. After hanging up I found the auction and was able to purchase a lathe I'd only dreamed of having. I picked it up this week and am very happy; it was every bit the lathe promised.

Now on to the Monarch forum to search answers to my newb questions.
