Guys,

I have an 801C drill press I'm looking to sell, with auto reverse for tapping feature.

Speeds in low range from 100 to 700 rpm, High range from 400 to 2800 rpm.

All speeds and tapping work exactly as they should, the table crank needs a new gear shaft made for it, the table will not crank up and down, and its a project I just don't have time for.

asking $800, located in Raymond, NH

Thanks for looking,

Mark

Why hasn't someone solved the sideways picture problem and posted it as a sticky somewhere? I have limited neck mobility from an old injury and really don't want to keep tilting my head sideways.

Lunchtime had a few minutes to kill
Needed some good karma, no more complaints about neck pain
Good luck with the sale

If I weren't past my expiration date that drill press would be in my shop already. This place ... I thought it was for "professionals". That's one of the nicest drill presses ever, and the price is too low.

You guys are turkeys.

easy solution i just tilted my screen sideways eesy peesy.....

I'm not in the market for another drill press, having three in various sizes, but am wondering (esp after EmanuelGoldstein's rant) what makes this particular drill press nicer than any other small non import machine?

I resemble all those accusations, and I'm half expired, and I have no room, and I have no time except to post on forums where nobody loves me, I'm less than 100 miles away and that drill press is flatout gawgeous.

Does that make me 1 turkey? 1.2, .8 .5? :D

I have always looked at a drill press as an accident waiting to happen in the hands of a novice. I honestly never owned one and can't remember when I last used one. In my lifetime there insn't a thing a drill press could do better than a mill. Every body has different opinions and needs. I am sure the seller doesn't mind us bumping his thread with our banter.

Quality. They are very well-built.

From memory, besides being heavy and accurate, they have Timken bearings in the spindle, helical back gear, a vari-drive rather than step pulleys, 3 morse taper spindle, all the good stuff you expect on a radial arm but in a small size.

The little high-speed one is pretty nice also. They made good products.

btw, last time I looked, these were several thousand dollars new. Four at least ...
