Mumf, if interested, I’ve had good service at fair price from both Harris Trucking and Manitoulon trucking for machinery loads in Canada.

    No connection with either.

Sorry to hear that, did you get a reason for high cost? Because it was rush job? Or yanks going into the great white north?
I had 13,000 lb machine moved 1000 miles for $1250, BUT no rush and no crossing borders...

Rob, i did not get a reason. If i could have done it for 2-3K i would have- just running out of time. I personally am in no rush, Just that Shane has to clear his building.

It’s bad timing for trucking right now as with blockades on some rail lines in Canada, truckers are very busy and can charge accordingly.

I just received several thousand pounds of stuff from Collector which cost me $450 C to move cross country. I got my quote pre rail blockade and I’m a repeat customer of this trucker.

lathe arrived today. It is in its interim storage area- i have to make more room-it is big. Tks to all for your help here and especially L&, Chris and Shane for their patience. It was on again off again multiple times. Time to go onto the next challenge of convincing my wife of the need to build more shop space!

    Glad you have it!!.
I was talking to the truckers I recommended and they mentioned they had to quote you a round trip with the truck for just your lathe, nothing else to share the load with or help on backhaul. She said time issues and not a heavy driven route forced the high quote.

    Good on ya, Mumf!

Curious- what did shipping cost? PM me if you don’t want public?
