Hi everyone. I have three Heald grinders for sale "cheap" in NE Philadelphia from my family's business. The business was started in 1945, and my family acquired it in 1960. Sadly, my father had to stop working two years ago due to progression of Alzheimer's.
Here's what I have:
Heald 261 rotary surface grinder, 16" chuck. Needs a good cleaning of hydraulics and some overall TLC. Only issue I can see is that I can't get the table to stop traversing. Asking $6000 OBO.
Heald 72A ID grinder approx. 24" swing. Everything seems to work fine. Asking $5000 OBO.
Heald 74 ID grinder 40" SWING!!. Everything seems to work fine. Asking $10,000 OBO.
Also have hundreds of grinding wheels both ID and OD (a few NOS) and hundreds of OD grinding arbors made over the course of 60+ years. Please inquire and/or make an offer on the entire lot.
Anyone wishing to visit is more than welcome, but I may talk your ear off because I love discussing the history of machines and the trade in general
