Clearing out estate, have bunch of tools for sale. Located near Farmington, Michigan. Unfortunately don’t know too much about history of these machines, operating tolerances/wear, etc. Would be happy to take measurements, inspect as directed if you help me with what/how to do. Looking to sell rather quickly.
1) Index Model 40 Vertical Milling Machine (pre-Wells). 1/2HP 110V/220V (8A/4A) Single Phase Motor. As pictured w/box of chucks & other tools. B&S #9 taper. Weighs about 1000 lbs.
Parts are still available for these from Wells-Index. Appears they have great customer service/reviews. Manual available as well. Apparently most of these were manufactured for the Navy during WW2. Manuals — Wells-Index Milling Machines
2) Freeport 6"x18" Hand Operated Surface Grinder Model SGS-618. I believe magnetic chuck form Production tool Supply Co National KMT 1325. Chun Tian Induction Motor 1HP 220V/440V (3.3A/1.6A) 3-phase.
