I think you're misidentifying the Cincinnati machine as a surface grinder. It is in fact just a pedestal grinder from the back side.

Date and serial mismatched on Monarch 10EE. Likely 1942, not 1947

I do not mean to piggyback the seller in any way, but I have a steady rest for a round dial 10ee that's for sale. Just in case the buyer wants one to go with the machine.

You're correct. I had taken a picture of the placard earlier for my own reference, and here's the picture I was looking at . Made out the 2 to be a 7.

The Brown and Sharpe mill appears to be a #2 horizontal mill with a vertical head attachment.

As an update:
