That's the term I've heard many times for them, and while the price is a wee high, not out of line.

I see them at $100-150 for cleaned up and with a motor & stand.

I agree with Digger, we had a nice one at the tool thrift shop. It moved in a couple of days, and I think the price was $125.

The also refer to the little metal lamps that came with Delta jigsaws and band saws as "retirement lights" because someone remarked that they sell for so much $$ that he could retire by selling his.

Being open sided, can you run material through twice and double the effective width?

Good for huge things like panel door frames where only the edge matters
