Purchasing Direct from Taiwan: Prompt CNC?

Hello all,

I'm entertaining the idea and adventure of buying a lathe directly from a Taiwanese manufacturer. Please resist the urge to comment on things like the support/warranty/parts/etc. I'd get when using a US-based reseller (e.g. PM, Grizzly, etc.)

The point of doing this is to get something you normally can't get, what the experience would be like. I don't expect to save any money as I obviously wouldn't be buying in bulk. Anyway, that being said, a company jumped out at me called Prompt CNC. They make a lathe with model PML340GX1000 that is the spitting image of a Precision Matthews 1440GT. However, the one I'm pursuing would be the PML 430S in 17x40 configuration with the optional 3in spindle bore.

Has anyone ever seen, used, heard of, or know anything about Prompt CNC?

And secondarily, have any stories to share about purchasing direct from a Taiwanese manufacturer?

I would suggest going with an importer/export service if you have never done international container loads. Alibaba might have it listed to make it easier yet.

If op is spammer they need better sales pitch than selling a product that is “spitting image” of
Low end pm - only with more cost and you have to deal with international logistics.

If it is a Precision Matthews 1440GT. Then best to have the Precision Matthews parts numbers and perhaps contact with a Precision Matthews dealer.
