Hi all,

Long time forum lurker here. I figured I would give the members here first dibs on this machine since I've gotten so much good info here.

I have for sale a South Bend SBL330. It is I believe a 13x40 with a D1-5 spindle, although the spindle is questionable as none of my measurements match up exactly to published dimensions. It comes with a 3 jaw, change gears, old live center, some dead centers, wrenches, and a tool post with two tool holders.

The machine is wired 460v 3ph and we do have a 460v/230v 3ph transformer if desired/needed that can be parted with for cheap to go with the machine. Everything works and it runs well, it has a good amount of dings and such in the carriage as I believe at one point this lathe was in a school. One definite defect is the control/power wire going to the carriage. The metallic jacket is coming apart. The wires are intact and functional though.

The shop I work for has had it for years and we have hardly used it. We did change the gear box oil about 5 years ago and since then it has probably been run for four hours or less. I am a Gunsmith and this lathe is simply too large and lacks the tooling that we need to use it for pretty much everything.

I have more photos available and can also take videos of it running etc. Also, if anyone is interested, they can view it in person. It is currently setup and runnable. We are asking $3500 and will discuss a price for the transformer if desired. We are also open to reasonable offers as well. We would like to have this picked up directly from the shop however we will consider shipping it if absolutely necessary.

We are located in Knoxville, TN.
