I spent hundreds of hours doing automotive assembly line fixture work on a DeVlieg jig mill when I was still working. Ours had a P&W 48" rotary table mounted on the table for most of the work performed. Once you set your standard rods and push position for the X or Y the table or head would self position then stop.
