This was sent to me by Mark Rand and looks good for those using the 3 loose wires method.

Back in the day when I didn't have the correct wire diameters on hand I could, using suitable wire diameters, make the necessary calculations. Easier though (considering the cost) to have a set of thread wires handy.

Those that find using 3 loose wires plus a micrometer no problem probably find doing card tricks is easy

As to why then because Mark Rand asked me to add it to this thread. He probably meant it to be added to what I'd just posted but I thought it good enough to have its own post. Many seem to use the 3 loose wires method. I believe I did post it in the METROLOGY sub forum years ago.

Off topic, but relevant to Doug's question:-
I'd assumed it was in the metrology section, but as I tend to look over all posts in the 'new posts' option, I didn't notice.

Might be worth raising the topic back to the top in the metrology section though?
