I have a manual for a 1640B, it may be the same as the one for yours, they like to conglomerate a lot of machines into the same manual it seems. As far as parts go, a lot of them likely are available but my experiences with Machinery Solutions (the company you have to go through to buy parts for your lathe) price gouges and are ultimately a bit of a pain to deal with. For example, a new tailstock was $2500 on a machine made in 2000. A full kit of replacement wipers was I believe somewhere in the realm of $400. And lastly, the coolant line and nozzle was almost $1000 for some shielded hose, a bronze ballvalve, and some galvanized pipe. Around $55 from McMaster. I did end up getting the follow rest for it ($500) but it needed serious modification to fit my lathe.
All in all, decent machine with okay coverage from the MFG. Very pricey if you need new parts for it. If you need service on the machine ask for Ted, great guy really helpful.
