I finally picked up some Cast Magnesium Angle plates-- these babies are 8"x24"x6" and are very manageable to move around my t-slot tables for both assembly checking and as squaring structure for weld jigs.
I plan on drilling and tapping a hole pattern and placing some mill table key slots for alignment/squaring.
If anyone has experience using cast magnesium plates-- please comment; I hope they hold up well and suit the purpose. They are so much easier to position than cast iron for their size.
