If nothing else you certainly are a persistent bastard

I'm pretty sure by now that if I wrote I hated the EU you'd tell me you loved it.

NO,NO,NO, in his own little world he is much more important than that.
I have it on good authority that he is changing his name to Practical Machinist Guru.

But you're the one that kept moaning that comments went off topic and all I'm trying to do is continue the conversation ON topic. FFS, hypocrite.
Oh, and adding the smiley face next to the name calling makes it alright. Ofcourse.
Gordon, go pee on a spark plug.
    Note, no smiley face.

And be as sure as you want about me, and you're 100% wrong.

I've got a feeling that you used ad infinitum in the wrong context and got slapped down for it.

I complain about everything because I envy you. I know this is so because you said so and your word is law.

I suppose, knowing the shit state of affairs Deutsche Bank is in, we could be ignoring his comments.
    But...
    YouTube

"Deutsche Bank’s chief economist, David Folkerts-Landau, not only says that over the medium and long-term a ‘No Deal’ Brexit will make no difference to the British economy, he says an inadequate deal which constrained the British economy would be “a second best solution”. Confirming what many in Downing Street believe, namely that even without the back-stop, May’s regulatory-aligned deal would have detrimentally constrained the dynamic British economy. So-called “regulatory alignment” is an EU imposed constraint on unleashing the British economy to outcompete turgid EU rivals. As the leaked French memo on Friday revealed, Paris fears a resurgent, deregulated dynamic British economy"

No-one in the EU wants the UK to brexit without a deal.
And almost all would prefer no brexit.

Almost-all in business in the UK don´t want a no-deal brexit.

There is no "dynamic UK economy" to profit from a brexit, as one poster said.

Stated terms from the US for a trade deal with the UK include allowing US poultry fed on antibiotics and chlorine washed, into the UK.
US poultry costs less on huge volume, thus UK producers will be decimated.
US chicken-derived serious illnesses are 20/100k vs 5 / EU.
    400% higher.

The US cannot supply UK with fresh agri produce, daily, via airlift, free.
    Volume 300.000 trucks per year.
80% of UK fresh produce comes from the EU. Free of paperwork, permits, inspections.

Brexit means mandatory paperwork and inspections of some sort, to be similar to truck convoys to/from russia etc.
    By EU law.
With good reason re:russia and similar ex satellite states.

No-one knows what the paperwork will end up costing as a steady-state working system, at some far-future point, and it might eventually be as little as a 50$ fee and automated IT signalling like on toll highways, for maybe 99% of cargo in the channel tunnel.

What everyone in industry knows is this.
There are no forms for expedited food transport into the UK.
There are no clear rules, samples, tariffs, pre-clearance of trucks, drivers, logistics companies, in the UK.
    Nothing.
There are no lay-bys and waiting areas for 4000 trucks (minimum required, optimistic).
There are not enough people in france or in the uk trained and authorised to deal with 1000 trucks per day.

    A truck carrying 5€/kg x 20t == 100.000€ of fresh food merchandise.
If it is delayed 1 hr past delivery deadline, by EU law, it will drive back into the country of origin and destroy the spoiled food there, and prove this via paperwork and invoices.
A 100k€ load can cost 200k€ to the logistics chain.
End-result payers are the customers of course, as prices in produce and insurance rise.

But even 2000€ / truck costs in le paperwork are still irrelevant overall, in greater scheme of things.
    600M€/yr, so what.
2% in cost of fresh food.
And, overall, everything else 2% more, plus less gov. revenue from in and out tourists and holidaymakers, maybe 3-4%.

That would be a used motorcar salesman.

In this life, if one has never f'kd up and been severely bollocked for it, then one had achieved nothing.
