Yet there are people here who insist that this is Boeing's fault. I s'pose if I drive around with the tie rods on my Chebby all rusted through, that it's GM's fault when I crash.

    It’s not ‘people on here’.

Boeing has fully acknowledged fault and has spent the last several months correcting the design problems.

Bullshit. It's public relations 101. If you're going to get crucified in the press, best thing is to pretend to be contrite and keep your head down until it goes away.

People, just wonderful. We haven't advanced one centimeter since the days of burning witches at the stake.

We have advanced from using inches to measure the stakes back then to using centimeters today. 1793 is when centimeters first came out.

When was the last official witch-burning ? Did they have to delay it for the delivery of metric stakes and firewood ?

None were ever burned in the colonies but this was the last in Scotland (1727).

While none [1] were burned at the stake, one was crushed to death with stones.

The way you (and another idiot) seem to stalk GBC seems bizarre, if I had you on ignore I might miss the reason why.

I think stakes through the heart is reserved for vampires, not used on witches. Salem Village was just copying other bigger towns when they started going after witches. Salem Village was just trying to keep up with Connecticut and prove they were better then Salem town. They just have better writers so folks remember Salem Village. Also the court transcripts still exist for researchers and authors to use.

What browser are you using ? Stupid flipping fireflop insists that "this site is not secure" and refuses to connect. If I could find a current (idiot javascript is everywhere now) browser that was totally unsafe, I'd go there in a heartbeat.

Like with most things these days you must be restricted "for your own safety".

Salem back then was known as Salem Town.
Salem Village was the low rent suburb. For some unknown reason they changed their name to Danvers in 1752. Gee I wonder why?
For some reason they also built a state psychiatric hospital in the town of Danvers. Maybe they thought a lot of the locals could use one.
California has pretty much closed all of it's psychiatric hospitals at Ronald Regans urging to save money. Proving that California is the least crazy state in the country with the fewest locked up crazy people.

Uh, no. Nothing to do with Reagan or saving money.
