What's that all about? I think they should come down on all things wrong, illegal, making gains at the cost of others... whatever. It's when they spend time, effort and big time dollars on questionable grounds when things become a real problem.but when the government comes after Gene Haas, something is wrong.
Well it's about a Government that is out of control. Hass is no dummy and from what is being reported by the IRS it sure sounds like something that when brought to the attention of the company, they would have cooperated with the government. Neither ME nor YOU know the story...But having friends in some of these agencies and hearing how poorly run they are. What's that all about? Yeah that is part of my point. If the government takes this guy down, what will it do to you and me? Anyway man I am sure you are a great guy but to me this is important. So when He is able to give his side of the story and if he is found not guilty then I will be sending you a big I told you so and of course I will expect one from you if he is a bad guy. Yep, the goverment is allways right. It's when they spend time, effort and big time dollars on questionable grounds when things become a real problem.
Must be a lot of profit in MachineTools these days to have $8.9 mil layng around to pay a fine."The scheme allegedly started in 2000 after Haas paid approximately $8.9 million to settle a patent infringement lawsuit brought against it by a rival firm. According to the indictment, Haas blamed his loss in the case on the federal judge who presided over the lawsuit. In September 2000, Haas allegedly created several tax fraud schemes to recover from the government the $8.9 million plus legal fees that he paid the rival company."
