So why not add Spinit to your ignore list and give him a break from your habitual criticism?

It is advantageous that you you do not understand. It allows you to focus on off topic trolling.

Gordon and Crazy have always done this and when they run off everyone who does not want to trail off into snide personal insults, identity politics, and America bashing they will then double down on that. Gordon wishes to force a topic other than the op.

They are like small irritable children in the backseat of a car on a long road trip. They like haranguing and disruption for the sake of disruption which is rude. That is why no post will ever be good enough for them because that factor does not matter and all that does matter is trolling.

Tea? Tea is for sipping. Discerningly, even.

I thot coffee had been proven the more effective emetic for a "high colonic"?

And Spinit believes I'm the one trolling? LMAO

Seriously, some of you are ruining Practical machinist (certainly this sub forum) and I doubt if that's your intention.

Thermite you could be a genuine asset to PM but seem to prefer just being an ass most of the time.

Gordon you persist in distracting from the topic because you like to haranguing on incessantly. You do well to change and contribute for a change. You have little useful track record because even when you ask for help you criticize those who try to help you. Your posts are to you a setup for more complaining.

This whole thread is like a bunch of atheists going to church. It will not make anyone happy, and it usually ends in a food fight. What was the original point? Oh yeah, tariffs are bad, we pay them, trade wars are for losers. But we all figured out the pope does not live in the woods. The facts are out there in plain sight, except there is an army who is desperate to hide them.

I think there's a very simple reason for that, - they both come from Denmark, that's Denmark in Scandinavia, Denmark - Wikipedia and Denmark in South Carolina Denmark, South Carolina - Wikipedia …...that is of course they're not one and the same person.

    Tariffs are "not good".

However.. sometimes the alternatives are even LESS "good".

So US consumers and businesses are the real "payers" of tariffs on Chinese goods. True. But only if they BUY Chinese goods. Avoidance of such purchases is getting easier by the week. The tariffs paid by those who insist on Chinese goods can be paid out against the needs of all citizens.

The Chinese don't pay those tariffs, either. All they have to do to avoid them is not SELL to the USA. That, too, is getting easier by the week.

Same situation, Chinese tariffs on US goods. No effect if the goods are not sold to them to begin with.

    Side effects? Yes. Surely.

But are they a bad thing?

    Discussion abounds. Criticism, even.

What part of that is "hidden" in any way?

I do not consider it trolling when correcting someone. You want my opinion on tariffs? One word answer: stupid.

I can assure you we are not. I have never met him. Never been to Denmark. Never been outside of the U.S.A. Never felt the need to.
