Depends. A buddy who was on active duty with the army stateside gave me some recent MREs left over from maneuvers. Some of it wasn't too bad but others lived up to the tag "Meals Rejected by Ethiopians".

Arrrrrrrhhhhhhhh yes, I remember something about it now...
He talked VERY rude and disrespectful about a place and people i'd never heard of - Norfuk.
Is that just down the road from you - the next village?
I maybe wrong but assume you live at the top of town and Sami at the bottom?

I don't live in a town, only 7 houses alongside a river. Just the job if your brother has a boat he can come and visit you.
Sami would not be allowed here, greasy hands and splinters.

Trump will have to cancel the order and tell them to go back to steam engines burning coal not this new fangled electricty stuff.
    Bill D.

I thought I was joking until I found this:
Ottoman submarine Abdul Hamid - Wikipedia.

It did not fight at D-day either.

Years ago I read a history of submarines throughout history. It is amazing how far back efforts at underwater vessels go. Everything from covered rowboats to divers in barrels (with arm holes to pick stuff off the bottom) have been tried.

One of the first known uses of a submarine in warfare was the Turtle, a human powered self-propelled wooden barrel with an attached explosive charge meant to be attached to the hull of a warship and then detached from the sub. It was unsuccessful as the screw was unable to penetrate the copper plates on the bottom of a British warship during the Revolutionary war in America.

When you look at what it took to be part of a sub crew even as late as WWII it is amazing the level of comfort and safety today, although it's still much tougher duty than a surface ship. Some of the bravest men ever were the crews who volunteered for duty on the CSS Hunley even after it had already killed several crews.

The Royal Navy had steam powered submarines back in the day.
