I am looking to buy 10 Haas lathe extension caps. The old caps aren't made anymore and we would have to upgrade to their new system that isn't as good.
The failure point is the 10-24 thread and gorillas tightening them to the point they strip the threads. Walls are not thick enough for an insert.
The only critical dimension is the 3 1/2-4 8-Thread Series thread.
6061 material
External knurling would be nice.
In the photo the part has an opening to feed barstock though but it would be better if it was closed.
