Hello I need a 3/8"-8 tap made. Tap doesnt need to be a tamdem style. The thread is pretty agressive at 2turns/inch.The screw Im using is a Mcmaster-Carr part #99030A303. The tap will be used to thread Delrin rod only. Thankyou Steve

Ive tried Roton for a tap. Said they had to have it made.Said it would cost 250.00, still waiting on the call.It will be chucked into my lathe tailshaft.Drill rod is hard enough. If I cant have one made I will taper and cut flutes into a screw I have. Steve

4 starts... you'll pretty nearly have to broach that thing. Trying to turn it in like a normal tap likely won't do much. Using the threaded rod itself likely won't give you any clearance either.

    Sounds like fun.
