0t--Derbyshire train incident

It was impressive. Expensive and wasteful. The amount of work getting it all set up and calculating the right speed considering the distance it fell was impressive. A little bit overshot. Not quite a perfect dive but close.:D
You only get one try.

Tom Cruse should have been strapped to the front of the engine. He is an arrogant a##. I haven't seen any of his movies since The movie War of the worlds remake. That news interview he made was enough for me.
I never stay awake through a movie.

mock up

an informed participant on the piston heads website posted this---

Flying Phil said:
The "Locomotive" was specially built with a Scania diesel engine in the tender for propulsion and three steam generators for effects. It was run -in on the GCR then went over to Norway for some filming. More filming was done back in the UK on the North York Moors Railway. Then it plunged into the quarry on a specially built length of line in Derbyshire.

CGI --another media tool to manipulate opinion and behavior--the loco mock up may not be a brit F class but it was created by
working hands shaping materials into a credible workpiece

better rendition of loco launch--
